Frequently asked questions about Moreton Island holidays
What are the benefits of booking a whole house vs an individual unit?
- Whole houses – Ideal for larger groups or multiple families. Booking a whole house offers maximum privacy, large entertaining decks, and plenty of space for the kids to run around.
- Individual units – Perfect for couples or smaller families looking for a more affordable, low-maintenance getaway while still enjoying a self-contained kitchen and living space.
Is linen provided in the holiday rentals?
No, linen is not included in the rental. Guests are required to bring their own top and bottom sheets, pillowcases, and bath towels for their stay. Pillows, doonas, blankets, bath mats, and tea towels are provided. Due to the island logistics, we no longer offer linen hire. For interstate or international visitors, please reach out to us directly at least 14 days prior to arrival to discuss your requirements.
What should I bring for a self-contained stay?
Our properties come with fully equipped kitchens. We recommend bringing your own groceries, linen, beach towels, and basic toiletries. While Castaways at Bulwer and Tangalooma Resort both have small stores for essential items, many guests prefer to bring their main supplies from the mainland for longer stays.
How do I get to my accommodation?
Properties located in Cowan Cowan and Bulwer require a 4WD vehicle via the MICAT barge. If you are staying at a Tangalooma villa, you can choose to travel as a walk-on passenger on the Tangalooma Island Resort ferry. Get more transfer information here.
